A Fall Inspired Wedding DayOn November 17, 2020 a dream team of local vendors gathered at The Blanford House to put together an idyllic fall wedding scene for our styled shoot. First things first, what is a styled shoot? Well, a styled shoot is an event organized for local creatives to showcase their business, and to inspire clients. Why do I love styled shoots? Because they provide both networking opportunities and creative freedom. Within the wedding industry there are so many vendors, all with varying styles, and a styled shoot brings together those vendors in a low-stress setting where we aren't working on a wedding day timeline and can express our creative side. It's kind of like practice! We work together on things like styled shoots to enhance our relationships and explore our resources to better serve you when you hire us! For this shoot, we sought to portray a Fall Wedding at The Blanford House, with three emphasis scenes: The Bridal Suite, The Ceremony, and The Head Table. When planning began for the shoot, the first place I started was with a mood board. I took to Pinterest to gather inspo on what I wanted the palette, tone, and style of the scenes to look like, and then I started reaching out to vendors. This is something that I would recommend that Brides do as well. A common frustration for clients is when they've found a singular picture that they want to replicate, but it just isn't coming to fruition the way they imagined. For me, a mood board gets me inspired. It isn't my plan to follow, but rather a starting point to jump from. As a Bride, if you can approach your vendors with a Mood Board, you are opening yourself up to the possibility of being inspired by a professional creative. They can understand what you like, and then show you how they can make it happen or even enhance your vision. That's exactly what happened here for this Styled Shoot, the amazing vendor team I worked with took what was on the mood board, then with their outstanding talents and resources, made it their own. It was magnificent! Scene: The Bridal Suite The Bridal Suite is where your day begins and the time you spend there is so special. The Blanford House's Bridal Suite boasts 3 vanity stations so you and your girls can get glammed together. For this shoot, we had an amazing beauty team from Thairapy Salon to make our already beautiful model Cheyenne Mabey feel flawless. As Patricia Duncan perfectly placed every strand of hair, Victoria Green selected the best details to add to Cheyenne's makeup. Once the beauty process was complete, it was time to turn our sweet model into a Bride, complete with Live Creations by Leah's gorgeous bridal bouquet and a lovely gown from Regiss Bridal and Prom. All the while, our photographer Allison Turner, of Allyography Weddings and Portraiture and videographer Caroline Ingrassia, of Sweet Caroline Videography sought to capture every moment. Scene: The Ceremony The Blanford House's courtyard serves as the ideal space to display your own ceremony style. For this shoot, we chose the white fence as our backdrop and Missy, of A Family Affair Events Rentals brought in a quaint and beautiful wooden arbor with white drapery accents, which Leah adorned with fall floral swags. For this scene, our second model Chad Taylor joined in and our Bride and Groom, both styled by Regiss Bridal and Prom were perfectly matched to the ceremony design. Scene: The Head Table There's nothing quite like a beautiful head table to set the tone for your wedding reception, and the head table from this shoot did not disappoint. Designed by Missy, of A Family Affair Event Rentals, one of the stunning custom reception tables of The Blanford House was transformed into an eloquently gold adorned setting. From the scalloped chargers to the golden flatware, Missy's style could not have been more perfect! Not to mention, Leah got to put her floral skills to work again for the stunning arrangements that gave this table a little extra dimension with their height. As an extension to the head table scene, we also created a cake table. Here, Missy provided a perfect gold cake stand and incorporated candles from the head table to accentuate the beautiful four-tiered cake by Amanda and Gabbie, of Frame and Frosting This cake was not only beautiful, but also delicious and served as the perfect scenery for toasts and tasting. I hope that this shoot might spark a little inspiration for you, and if you're looking for an impeccable vendor team -- here's a great place to start! Be sure to give each of these vendors a follow on social media, so you can keep up with what creative things they do next. P.S. Sending a HUGE thank you to each of the vendors that participated!
